Some interesting tidbits...

Presenting:  some favorite photos, not previously posted, for your enjoyment.  Since this is a redo--blogger COMPLETELY obliterated the original post!!!--the photos will only have VERY succinct captions.

The "scooty": choice transportation for both man and beast!

I get spoon fed my birthday cake! Then, got it smeared onto my face! Both an Indian tradition, apparently....

Pigs adapted to eat garbage... and teach their young the same... so tragic!

So cute...would love to abscond with these babes...

another sweet street pooch

R.I.P., gas main!

huh?! play on words that I guess made sense to them!

Indian jump bikes...clearly not used much!

No one can tell me WHY so many trees/roots are painted this way!

stylish "penguin" garbage receptacle...WHY a penguin?!?!?

"garages" are popular take-away eateries!

Eating healthy here... my classic salad!

Amazing vines dangling down from these lovely Koregaon Park trees...

Great to see kids coming back outside to play! In this case, cricket... possibly the most popular game in India.

To die for: berry and litchi nut ice cream!

My first go at homemade parathas...

They came out great!! ingredients: potato, onion, garlic, cauliflower, spinach and spices. A paratha is a fancy chapati of sorts.

Ravi: handsome employee of my Airbnb host, who told me, definitively, it was not going to rain...

...and this was the result! yes, soaked to the bone...

made a mad dash through these very wet streets to get back home...

true love!!!

Lather before wearing....

amusing myself at home... learning to sketch from YouTube tutorials...

extreme luxury: new residential high rise towers at the outskirts of Pune. I was going to take an Airbnb apartment here, until...

...I found little flying insects floating in the water dispenser! horrors! so "thanks, but no thanks!"

Pune river. beautiful skies. very polluted, unfortunately...smelly. lots of garbage along the banks and stuck on snags...

Weston Hotel on river bank. closed, of course... indefinitely.

horrors! yes, cannot escape the man-who-cannot-be named...

very gratifying to see one of its gates graffiti-ed!

How the skies appear frequently these days... although, the steady monsoon rains though have yet to arrive... rain is intermittent, and most generally in the afternoon.
